Welcome to Hawaii Vacations! We aim to be the best resource for information to plan your next vacation to Hawaii. Select a location on the left to get started.

Located just off Malaekahana beach on the windward coast of Oahu is Goat Island (other wise known as Mokuauia Island). Just 720 feet from Malaekahana beach, Goat Island is a gorgeous offshore island, featuring two pretty beaches of its very own as well as some very interesting snorkeling.

Of course you can always take a kayak out to Goat Island, but for something a little different, you might want to consider a "snike" or snorkel-hike. Oftentimes, particularly in low tide, you can just wade out to the island, but be sure to bring a pair of reef shoes with you, to protect your feet. However, it can sometimes be easier to just swim there, hence why it is referred to as a snike. Water depth can range from three to five feet, so of course, check the wave action before doing this, as wading out there during large surf, is not a good idea. If you do choose to swim out there, definitely consider bringing a mask and fins with you as there is a lot of good snorkeling here due to an offshore reef. Water is relatively clear, and inside pockets of lava shelf you can find an array of different types of fishes as well as octopi to look out for.

On the stunning island itself, two beaches beckon to you, with long, gorgeous, virtually untouched stretches of golden sand. The left hand beach in particular is perfect for swimming, being somewhat protected by the off shore reefs. Most of the island is a protected bird sanctuary; however, there is a trail by the shore, which is perfect for strolling. And once youre done with that, find a spot on the beach to enjoy unique views of Oahu, as you lay back on your own little island getaway.
