The Postmaster at the Hoolehua Post Office will help you say "Aloha" with a Molokai coconut. Just write a message on the coconut with a felt-tip pen, and she'll send it via U.S. mail. Coconuts are free but postage is the current rate for a mainland-bound coconut.
The post office is located on Puu Peela Avenue a half mile from Molokai Airport. Just ask around. Everyone who lives there knows where it is. The name is pronounced (WHO-Lay-WHO-Uh). Picking up a simple Hawaiian/English dictionary can really help you when learning to navigate your way around any of the islands. The Hawaiian language seems simple, but is actually quite complex and can be overwhelming with everything looking and sounding the same for the first week or so of your stay.
This is a fun and unique activity that will surprise your family and friends back home.
